Enter your followers, average likes, and average comments to see your engagement rate and how it compares to accounts your size. The math runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded or scraped.
Engagement rate is the percentage of your followers who interact with an average post: (average likes + average comments) ÷ followers × 100. Benchmarks compress as follower count grows — very small accounts often see 8%+ engagement thanks to friend-and-family effects, while accounts over a million tend to sit closer to 1%. That’s why this calculator compares your rate to accounts in your own bracket rather than a single flat number.
It depends heavily on account size. Nano accounts (under 1K followers) often see 8%+, micro accounts (1K-10K) around 4-5%, mid-tier (10K-100K) around 2-3%, macro (100K-1M) around 1.5%, and mega accounts (1M+) closer to 1%.
A smaller, closer audience tends to interact more consistently. As an account grows, a larger share of new followers are passive, which naturally pulls the average rate down even when total engagement keeps rising.
If your engagement rate is already below your bracket’s benchmark, adding raw followers first will dilute it further. Lifting engagement on existing posts tends to help more before scaling follower count.
